David Bradshaw

Cal Poly experience:
B.S. Agricultural Engineering Technology, 1989

What he does now:
Agricultural Liason, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California

David Bradshaw has taken a new position with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California as their agricultural liaison. His office is in Sacramento and he enjoys working with new coworkers and farmers on a daily basis. The move comes after Bradshaw worked more than 20 years at the Imperial Irrigation District as an assistant manager for water resources.

Previously, Mr. Bradshaw worked with UMA Engineering for five years as a consultant to IID, working to develop and implement the IID/MWD 1988 water transfer. Current projects include Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) and State Drinking Water Act compliance issues. Other activities revolve around the Quantification Settlement Agreement (QSA) and involve fallowing land to conserve water for the San Diego County Water Authority (SDCWA).

Why he recommends Cal Poly's BRAE department:
"I would recommend the BRAE Department at CPSLO to students that like to learn design and then test their designs in 'real world' applications at the ITRC lab and through internship programs. Brilliant instructors coupled with state-of-the-art equipment aid in the learning process. CPSLO is well recognized in the industry and the ITRC is a known leader in instruction throughout the irrigation world. Students who like ideas and like to put their ideas to the test are welcome to the BRAE Department!"
