Orchard Machinery Corporation was formed in 1961, designing and fabricating mechanized tree shakers to enable a more efficient harvest. This technology provided growers with more consistent harvests and lower labor costs. Today, OMC is an international leader in the production of tree shakers and orchard management equipment to farmers around the world. All equipment is proudly designed and manufactured in the United States. Currently, OMC employs three Cal Poly BRAE alumni in their research and development department. These engineers are on the forefront of designing the most technologically advanced orchard harvesting equipment to supply the ever-growing demand for a quicker and more efficient harvest. The team uses their engineering skills obtained from Cal Poly to design equipment ranging from tree shakers to OMC’s new product line of orchard management equipment. These designs require an integration of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to make this equipment operate at peak performance.
