Rudy Schalk joins Cal Poly after several decades leading innovation across various domains from Imaging satellite development to high precision measurements of critical parameters for semiconductor manufacturing and ink jet printer R&D. 

Most recently Rudy was the Director of Rolls-Royce@NTU in Singapore where he led a team of faculty researchers, and industry partners in the development of next generation electric propulsion programs for Rolls-Royce.

Rudy brings decades of practical experience along with a targeted background in Geodetic Science & Surveying and Remote Sensing and Image Processing.

Rudy holds a master's degree in Geodetic Science & Surveying from The Ohio State University and a bachelor's degree in Geography with an emphasis in Remote Sensing from The University of California at Santa Barbara.
