2005-2006 Expenditures (updated 05/08/2006)

$ 40,000 Fund continued offerings of BRAE 240 labs during the 2005-2006 academic year. Budget cuts have placed hardships on the department. This proposal allows the department to continue with the full offering of courses despite the cuts. The department is thankful for the students' support.
$ 5,500 Aid travel costs for BRAE 128, 236, 414, 440,532, and Tulare Farm Show field trips.
$ 12,000 Student lab assistants and equipment support for labs 3, 6, and 7.
$ 5,500 Software support by paying the annual software licensing fees for software packages. Note that some software fees are split with other departments and this funding only pays for the BRAE share.
$ 3,000 Purchase 28 new chairs for the student computer lab 3.
$ 9,000 Fund two sections of the Solidworks Laboratory course during Fall and Spring of 2005-2006.
$ 68,326.23 These funds were provided to complement the $5,000 from the CAGR to replace all of the computer workstations in the Instructional Computing Lab in Shop 4. This included 3 Ghz computers, 19” LCD monitors, chairs, desks, and flooring.
$ 1,000 These funds were provided for the BRAE Department to pay for light maintenance throughout the department. This includes cobweb removal, window cleaning, etc.
$ 5,000 Funding for upgrade of GPS systems.  Matched with CAGR and NRM CBF funding
$ 2,500 Travel Support for the 1/4 scale tractor competition.
$ 8,000 Provided additional storage at the irrigation fields.
$ 6,000 Provided a plasma cutter and TIG welder for Lab 7.
$   150 Provided supplies for Lab 3.
$ 1,000 Transportation of a visit to local employers.
$13,000 Helped fund the changes at the Merriam Irrigation Practices Field due to the Poly Canyon Village housing project.
$ 3,410 Replace soil probes used in the soil and water classes.
$ 5,500 Purchased GPS tractor guidance system for a department tractor to demonstrate GPS guidance for BRAE 141, 142, & CRSC 244 classes.
$38,730 Provided to replace the computers in Lab 3 and upgrade the desks.
$23,764.80 Funding for a new pantograph with computer software control for Lab 7.
