Agricultural Engineering Society (AES)

AES has many activities that are held throughout the year. Each week AES holds a barbecue for their members to get together, socialize, have a good meal and relax. We also have monthly meetings to update the members on current events throughout the department, College of Agriculture, College of engineering and the University.

At these meeting a guest speaker is invited to enhance the professional development of our members. These guest speakers are from industry and from within the university. The club also goes to many events outside of the University like the Tulare Farm Show to promote the college of Agriculture and the BioResource and Agricultural Engineering Department.

We also have representative that attend the local ASAE (American Society of Agricultural Engineers) sectional meetings and this year there will be ten representatives at the national ASAE conference in Toronto, Canada.

 
Events 

Tractor Pull

AES also puts on a tractor pull on the Cal Poly campus during Open House each spring. The funds raised by this event are then used to supply scholarships to BRAE students.

Activities

To keep things fun the club puts on several social activities once a quarter: During the month of October 2009, the club is participating in the Great AgVentures (Oct. 7), the Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off during the SLO Thursday Farmer's Market (Oct. 15), the Farm City Night at Farmer's Market (Oct. 22)

Fundraiser

As a group fundraiser AES makes and sells Ring Stands for irrigation evaluations. If you are interested in purchasing ring stands please contact us at hc991@calinet.com.
