In His Own Words...
Dr. Solomon says that his most memorable college experience was "[r]eceiving a D on my first engineering report. I was still thinking like I was in high school. I'd handed in what was essentially a book report -- a collection of what others had done and written. I learned from that D that I had to take it to the next level. I was expected to pull that information together and add my own thinking to it. That D was my wake-up call. It was OK for me to think on my own. It was expected that I would be adding my own contributions now."
